Dr. Joe Packheiser

Dr. Joe Packheiser was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended college at Illinois State University for a Bachelors degree in Biology and a Masters degree in Environmental Biology. He served in the US Army for two years and worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health before being accepted into Veterinary School. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois in 1984.

His first job as a Veterinarian was at the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic here in Greensboro. He bought Spring Valley Animal Hospital in 1988 and then merged with Southwoods Animal Hospital in 1994.

Dr. Joe is married, has two children, and enjoys playing golf and racquetball, and horseback riding.

 

 

 

Dr. Corinne McGregor

Dr. Corinne McGregor is originally from northeast Indiana where she grew up on a horse farm. She was active in the regional horse shows and local 4-H. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Findlay in 1998. Dr. McGregor attended The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2004, she came to North Carolina to start her career. Dr. McGregor’s special interests include geriatrics, cardiology, and surgery.

Dr. McGregor lives in Jamestown with her husband, daughter, two beagles and a three-legged cat. She enjoys reading, hiking, crafts, and baking.

 

 

 

Dr. Tana Albright

Dr. Violet Kirk was born and raised in rural central Illinois. She majored in biology and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Illinois State University. Following her undergraduate education, she attended the University of Illinois and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Kirk has a special interest in dog training and has competed with both of her mix breed dogs. In addition to dog training, she also enjoys live music, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Kirk is happily married and shares her home with two mix breed dogs and two short hair cats. Her hopes and wishes for the future include a ferret and two miniature horses!

 

 

 

Dr. Tana Albright

Dr. Matt Powers was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He attended Kansas State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture in 2005. He remained at Kansas State University to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He has always had a strong interest in all aspects of veterinary surgery.

Dr. Powers moved to Greensboro with his wife and infant son soon after graduation to join Southwoods Animal Hospital. He has two mixed breed dogs and two cats. In his free time he enjoys hiking with his family, woodworking, and a variety of sports including racquetball, golf, and softball.
